Workday Data Cloud: Your Enterprise Data Hub

For years, organizations have struggled with siloed data. HR and financial data in one system, and operational data scattered across dozens of different applications. This fragmentation makes it nearly impossible to get a holistic view of the business. Workday’s answer is the Workday Data Cloud.

This new offering is provides a set of capabilities that will allow customers to analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data from any source and connect it to their core Workday data. Think about integrating customer satisfaction scores from a CRM, usage data from a billing platform, or real-time sales metrics from an e-commerce site directly with your Workday Financials and HCM data. The Workday Data Lake will allow secure, easy access to a curated catalog of Workday business objects. Workday Data Connect will enable two-way, zero-copy data sharing between Workday and leading data platforms like Databricks, Salesforce Data Cloud, and Snowflake through a new Apache Iceberg connection. Workday Live Data Query will provide direct SQL access to Workday’s core business data.

It empowers leaders to make data-driven decisions based on a complete picture of their business, rather than just a partial one

The Agent System of Record & Workday Build: The Rise of AI Agents

Workday introduced a groundbreaking concept at Rising 2025: the Agent System of Record. This new framework is the backbone for the next evolution of intelligent automation. It allows for the creation and deployment of AI-powered agents that can operate autonomously within Workday, performing tasks that once required human intervention. A partnership with Microsoft to import agents built on the Azure AI Foundry was also announced with more vendors to follow. These agents can manage complex, multi-step workflows, from automatically onboarding a new employee based on a trigger in an external system to auditing expense reports for compliance.

To support this vision, Workday also announced Workday Build, a new platform that allows customers and partners to create their own custom AI agents and applications. Workday Flowise Agent Builder provides a suite of low-code and no-code tools that leverage Workday’s core capabilities and data models. This empowers IT teams and business users to create purpose-built solutions that solve their unique operational challenges without extensive coding. It’s a democratization of innovation, enabling a new wave of automation that is deeply integrated with the enterprise’s most critical data.

Workday Orchestrate Goes GA: Streamlining Business Processes

Following a successful preview period, Workday Orchestrate is now generally available. This powerful tool is designed to streamline complex business processes that span multiple systems. Workday Orchestrate provides a graphical interface for building and managing workflows that connect Workday with external applications, vendors, and partners. It will allow Workday Admins to be able to troubleshoot and maintain integrations more easily.

This is a major step forward for end-to-end process automation. For example, a single orchestrated workflow could automate the entire procure-to-pay process: from the moment a purchase requisition is created in Workday, to the approval in an external system, the purchase order being sent to the vendor, and the final payment being processed—all without manual intervention. Workday Orchestrate will be a key enabler for organizations looking to break down departmental silos and create truly seamless operations

Workday Revenue Center: A Unified Approach to Revenue

Workday unveiled a major new offering for the office of the CFO: Workday Revenue Center. This solution is designed to tackle the complexities of modern revenue models, which often include a mix of subscriptions, usage-based fees, and traditional sales. Traditionally, these disparate revenue streams are managed in separate systems, leading to a fragmented and error-prone process.

The Workday Revenue Center unifies this process by providing a single platform to mediate usage data, process billing, and automate revenue recognition. A core feature is its ability to ingest and process (mediate) raw usage data from external sources and apply highly configurable pricing and charge models. It also introduces Agentic AI support, which can analyze data to flag potential billing issues, suggest optimal pricing strategies, and automate complex revenue recognition rules (e.g., ASC 606). This will allow finance teams to accelerate their financial close, improve data accuracy, and gain a complete, real-time view of their revenue streams.

Strategic Acquisition: Welcome Sana

In a move that underscores their commitment to continuous innovation, Workday announced the acquisition of Sana. Sana is a leader in intelligent document processing and data extraction using AI. This acquisition will directly enhance Workday’s core capabilities by improving the platform’s ability to read and process unstructured data.

The applications of this are vast. For HR, it means automatically extracting key details from resumes, offer letters, or compliance documents. For Finance, it means seamlessly processing invoices, receipts, and other financial records with minimal manual data entry. By bringing Sana’s technology into the Workday platform, they are laying the groundwork for a more intelligent, frictionless experience for all users, further cementing their position as a true enterprise solution.
